President's Letter 2026
President's Report
Dear Fellow Chapter Members, Associates and Friends,
On behalf of the Board, I would like to begin by wishing you a Happy New Year! The Board is planning a year full of quality, interesting training, community support activities, and even more fun social/networking opportunities in the spirit of the US semiquincentennial.
In 2025, we offered 10 hours of affordable, quality CPE credits through a combination of in-person breakfast meetings and virtual webinars. Additionally, in October we began offering PA CLE at all of our training events. Through our Share the Love initiative, more than 30 Members who attended two of the first three trainings earned the August training for free. We’re pleased to once again offer this as a token of our appreciation for your dedication to and support of the Chapter. We also held our 33rd Annual All-Day Fraud Conference which provided a total of 8 hours of CPE credits, including 2 hours of Ethics. Our first training event will be in-person and will be held on February 3. Speakers Bill Capra and Geoff Gordan will discuss crypto-tracing. Registration for all upcoming trainings are already open.
Our scholarship committee awarded two CFE prep courses in 2025 and launched a mentorship program to support the awardees on their journey- both of whom successfully passed and earned their CFE credential last year! For members interested in earning their CFE credential, our scholarship committee is once again sponsoring a giveaway of the CFE Preparation Course. We encourage all Associate members who are in good standing to apply. The application period closes on February 2, 2026. Please visit the “Scholarship” section of our website for additional information on how to apply for this giveaway. If are interested in participating in the mentorship program (as a mentor or mentee) please email me at [email protected].
Board and Chapter Members as well as our friends and families prepared and served meals at the Ronald McDonald House, ran and walked in the Alex’s Lemonade 5K, spoke to college students and church groups, sponsored and participated in the Drexel University 11th Annual FIC3 Fraud Competition, donated socks, hats and gloves to Woodstock Family Center, and gave a $1,500 monetary donation to Philabundance. None of this would have been possible without you, our membership. We look forward to continuing community goodwill and hope you will plan to join us at the 2026 events.
If you have not already renewed your Chapter membership for 2026, please renew today. Our membership fees remain the same for the third year in a row. The Chapter membership dues are $40 for members who are Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), and $55 for associate members who are not CFEs. We also have a special student rate of $25. Our CPE breakfast meeting attendee cost will also remain unchanged at $50 for a member and $80 for a non-member. We rely on you to help spread the word about the benefits of Chapter membership and encourage you to invite colleagues to join the Chapter. Together we can continue to support the mission of the ACFE of reducing the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime and to assist the Membership in fraud detection and deterrence.
Our website is updated throughout the year with announcements, member spotlights, and details of upcoming and past events, so please check our website regularly. While you’re there, you can also renew your membership, register for events, visit the member directory, search or post job ads, submit speaker recommendations, and submit links to self-authored articles on our website. Also, stay connected to the Chapter by following us on our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn social media pages.
And finally, a special thank you goes out to my fellow board members, whose hard work, dedication, and vision has contributed greatly to the success of the Philadelphia Area Chapter: Vice President – Pranav Naik, Secretary – Joanna Kiszlo, Treasurer – Irina Balashova, Director of Training – Joseph Galdo, Director of Training Emeritus - Robert Cohen, and Directors Jennifer Silvestrov, Jo-Ann Weiner, Shanay Cheeves, Jeffrey Willoughby, Carl Moldrup, Buntina Conteh, and Jesse LaGrossa. The current two-year term expires at the end of this year and elections for the 2027-2028 term will be held this fall. I highly encourage anyone with questions about or interest in being a Board volunteer to seek out any current Board member, we’re happy to assist.
I look forward to working with everyone to continue the growth and success of the Philadelphia Area Chapter of the ACFE and our members.
