President's Message 2025 Print

President's Report

Dear Fellow Chapter Members, Associates and Friends,

On behalf of the Board, I would like to begin by wishing you a Happy New Year!  The Board is already hard at work planning a year full of quality, interesting training, community support, and fun social/networking opportunities.

In 2024, we offered 10 hours of affordable, quality CPE credits through a combination of in-person breakfast meetings and virtual webinars. In fact, through our Share the Love initiative, Members who attended two of the first three trainings earned the August training for free. We’re pleased to once again offer this as a token of our appreciation for your dedication to and support of the Chapter. We also held our 32nd Annual All-Day Fraud Conference which provided a total of 8 hours of CPE credits, including 2 hours of Ethics. Our first training event will be in-person and will be held on February 4.  Speakers Ken Feinstein of JS Held and Patrick Grobbel of KonaAI will discuss fraud analytics.  Registration for upcoming trainings are already open.

For members interested in earning their CFE credential, our scholarship committee is once again sponsoring a giveaway of the CFE Preparation Course.  We encourage Associate members who are in good standing to participate.  The application period closes on February 28, 2025. Please visit the “Scholarship” section of our website for additional information on how to apply for this giveaway.

Last year, the Chapter took a more hands-on approach to community involvement. Board and Chapter Members as well as our friends and families prepared and served meals at the Ronald McDonald House, ran and walked in the Alex’s Lemonade 5K, and gave a $1,500 monetary donation to Cradles to Crayons. None of this would have been possible without you, our membership. We look forward to continuing community goodwill and hope you will plan to join us at the 2025 events.

If you have not already renewed your Chapter membership for 2025, please renew today. Our membership fees remain the same.  The Chapter membership dues are $40 for members who are Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs), and $55 for associate members who are not CFEs. We also have a special student rate of $25. Our CPE breakfast meeting attendee cost will also remain unchanged at $50 for a member and $80 for a non-member. We rely on you to help spread the word about the benefits of Chapter membership and encourage you to invite colleagues to join the Chapter. Together we can continue to support the mission of the ACFE.

Our website is updated throughout the year with any upcoming training and social events, so please check our website regularly. While you’re there, you can also renew your membership, register for events, visit the member directory, search or post job ads, submit speaker recommendations, and submit links to self-authored articles on our website. Also, stay connected to the Chapter by following us on our social media pages including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

And finally, a special thank you goes out to my fellow board members, whose hard work, dedication, and vision has contributed greatly to the success of the Philadelphia Area Chapter: Vice President – Pranav Naik, Secretary – Joanna Kiszlo, Treasurer – Irina Balashova, Director of Training – Joseph Galdo, Director of Training Emeritus - Robert Cohen, and Directors Jennifer Silvestrov, Jo-Ann Weiner, Shanay Cheeves, and Jeffrey Willoughby. We are looking forward to welcoming new Board members in the coming months.

I look forward to working with everyone to continue the growth and success of the Philadelphia Area Chapter of the ACFE and our members.
